GENERAL CONDITIONS IN URUGUAY

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Currency: Uruguayans pesos ($UY).

 

Local Tax: 22%.

 

Driver's License: Valid driver's license issued at the renter's country, with 2 years of validity, with passport if license does not have photograph. An International driver's permit will be required for licenses in Non Roman alphabet and will have to be shown with a valid license from the country of the renter's residence.

 

Minimum Age: 21 years.

 

Minimum Rental: According to rate.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

Should passengers not have credit cards, the reservation must be made with a prepaid voucher, and must leave a deposit of US$ 615.- and it would remain upon request.

 Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

 

MANDATORY CHARGES

CDW: Partial Exemption of responsibility for damages to the vehicle by collision or theft.

Group B: US$ 19.- per day plus tax.

Rest of the groups: US$ 22.- per day plus tax.

Deductible:

Group M: US$ 2,000.- plus tax.

Rest of the groups: US$ 615.- plus tax.

 

Airport Surcharge: US$ 12.- per rental.

 

Tolls: $UY 50.- (US$ 2.40 approx.). They can only be paid in local currency.

Example:

Montevideo / Punta del Este: 2 tolls.
Montevideo / Colonia: 2 tolls.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Additional Driver: US$ 10.- per rental, per driver.

 

Child Safety Seat: US$ 6.55.- per day, plus tax, US$ 41.- per week, plus tax. (This service will not confirm automatically, it will have to be required to helpdesk@avis-int.com).
 

Luggage Rack: US$ 3.- per day plus tax and US$ 15.- per week plus tax.

 

Satellite Navigator (Garmin Street Pilot GPS): US$ 10.- per day plus tax., plus a guarantee deposit of US$ 200.-

 

Pick up and Drop Off out of AVIS locations in Montevideo: Free. Has to be requested when making the reservation, and will be confirmed for Ports, Hotels or Companies.

 

Delivery in other cities:

Piriápolis: US$ 30.- plus tax, free of charge if the rent is for 3 or more days.

La Paloma, Atlántida: US$ 30.- plus tax, free of charge if the rent is for 7 or more days.

The costs are according to stretch.

 

Fuel: $UY 29.70 per liter (US$ 1.45 approx.).

 

Additional Hour: The third part of the daily rate will be charged.

Montevideo's Downtown / Carrasco's  Airport: 22 Km. approx.

Montevideo's Downtown / Punta del Este Airport: 100 Km. approx.

Punta del Este Downtown / Punta del Este Airport: 20 Km. approx.

AVIS Montevideo Central location / Port: 2 Km.

AVIS Montevideo Central location / Omnibus Terminal: 2 Km.

ONE WAYS

One Way Fees: US$ 30.- plus TAX, between MVD and PDP.

INSURANCE & COVERAGE

CDW Exclusion of deductible: It is possible to eliminate the deductible and the guarantee deposit, it will cover total vehicle damages, partial or total theft (except damage, robbery or loss of radio, keys or accessories).

The Group M doesn't include exclusion of deductible.

All groups (Except Group M): US$ 15.- per day and US$ 75.- the week (these values include tax).

To acquire this protection the payment must be done with a credit card..

 

Civil Responsibility and Third Party Insurance: The Civil Responsibility and Third Party Insurance is included in all rates and covers up to US$ 300,000.- for material possessions and over persons. If there are one or more persons injured o dead in an accident the insurance will cover up to a maximum of US$ 900,000.-

The detailed values are approximated and subject to variation according to what has been stipulated by the State Bank of Insurances.
