GENERAL CONDITIONS IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: DOP.

 

TAX: 16%.

 

Reservations: 48 hours ahead.

 

Minimum Rental: 3 days.

 

Minimum/Maximum Age: 21 / 65.

 

Driver's License: A valid driver's license issued in country of the renter's residence must be produced at time of rental. An International credit card will be required.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

 
 Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.
 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

LDW: US$ 12.85 per day. In the event of theft or damage to the AVIS car, the renter will be required to pay up to a total value of vehicle rented. This requirement may be fully waived if the renter elects to purchase the Loss Damage Waiver. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Deductible:

Group A: DOP 10.000.- (approx. US$ 654.-).

Rest of the groups: DOP 15.000.- (approx. US$ 981.-).

 

Deductible Elimination: With a supplement of US$ 9.- per day, for all groups. It releases the client of any responsibility for damages or loss to the vehicle as result of accident or theft.

 

PAI: US$ 1.20 per day.

 

Airport surcharge:

POP / PUJ: 5% per rental.

SDQ: 10% per rental.

 

Additional Driver: No Charge.
 

Refueling service: A refueling service charge will be incurred if a car is returned with less fuel than when rented.

 

One Way Rentals: Allowed between AVIS locations. Subject to availability. Consult charges for ONE WAY rentals.
 

Drop Off Charges: There are domestic Drop Off charges. Consult.
