GENERAL CONDITIONS IN PUERTO RICO

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

TAX: None.

 

Reservations: Reservation must be placed with AVIS at least 48 hours prior from departure from the country.

 

Minimum Rental: 3 days.

 

Minimum/Maximum Age: 25 / None.

 

Driver's License: Valid drivers license from country of origin.

 Grace Period: 29 minute grace period. At 30 minutes, 3/4th the daily rate plus a penny is charged. At 90 minutes, a full day is charged.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

 Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Loss damage waiver (LDW): US$ 17.95 per day except LCAR, MVAR and SFAR US$ 19.95 per day. In the event of theft or damages to the AVIS car, the renter will be responsible for the total cost of the damage repair or up to the full value of the vehicle. this responsibility will be waived if the customer elects to purchase LDW. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

 

Personal accident insurance (PAI): US$ 3.- per day. Provides accidental death and medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the AVIS car. 

 

ALI: US$ 8.95 per day.

 

PEP: US$ 1.95 per day.
 

Additional Driver: US$ 25.- per driver, per rental. All additional drivers have to be registered at time of rental and must meet AVIS qualification standards.
 

Refueling service: A refueling service charge will be incurred if a car is returned with less fuel than when rented. Prepaid Gas option available for a nominal fee at time of rental.

 

Airport Fee: 10%, except for San Juan location 11%.

 

Vehicle Excise Fee: US$ 3.- per day. Only for San Juan location.
 

Vehicle License Fee: US$ 1.- per day, except for San Juan location US$ 1.25 per day.
 

One Way Rentals: Allowed between AVIS locations. Subject to availability. Consult for charges of One Way. The vehicles can not be driven outside Puerto Rico.
