GENERAL CONDITIONS IN NICARAGUA

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: Córdobas (C$), though all rental amounts and those related must be paid in US dollars (US $).

 

TAX: 15%.

 Reservations: Reservation must be placed with AVIS at least 48 hours of anticipation.

 

Minimum rental: 3 days.

 

Maximum/Minimum age: 25 / None.

 

Drivers license: A valid one from the country of origin. The passenger must present an international credit card.

 

Acceptable Methods of Payment: International Credit Cards, AVIS Charge Card and AVIS Vouchers. Debit Cards, Checks and Cash are not accepted.

 

Pre-payments: The rental cost must be paid at the vehicle’s pick-up time, by presenting vouchers accepted by AVIS. Additionally, the presentation of an International Credit Card is required to cover incidental charges not included in the voucher presented. All additional charges not included in the voucher must be paid upon return of the vehicle.

 Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

 

Deposit: All car rentals require a deposit with an International Credit Card of:

Groups A and B: US$ 500.-

Groups C and D: US$ 750.-

Groups N and P: US$ 1000.-

Groups J and K: US$ 1250.-

No cash, travelers checks, or personal checks will be accepted as deposits or final payments.

 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Additional driver*: US$ 10.- per driver, per rent.
 

Airport charge: US$ 5.- per contract.

 

Child Safety Seat*: US$ 5.- per day.
 

LDW*: US$ 16.- per day, without deductible. The client will not be responsible for any harm or lost of the car as a result of an accident or robbery. Releases the customers from all responsibility for collision damage to another vehicle. Total or Partial Theft of the vehicle will be covered up to 20% per customer. Damages to windshields and tires are not included. This protection applies provided an official police report is presented.

 

PDW*: US$ 11.- per day with a deductible of  20%. Releases the customer from partial responsibility for theft or damage to the vehicle as a result of accidents or thefts. Damages to windshields and tires are not included. This protection applies provided an official police report is presented.

Deductibles:

Groups A and B: US$ 500.-

Groups C and D: US$ 1000.-

Groups J, K, N and P: US$ 1500.-

 

ALI*: US$ 12.99 per day, without deductible. Mandatory in Nicaragua. It covers up to US$ 10000.- for personal injury and damage to private property. This protection applies provided an official police report is presented.

 

One Way policy: Allowed and free of charge between AVIS locations within the country. Drop off in neighbor countries is permitted, the charges are:

El Salvador (SAL, L89): US$ 250.-

Guatemala (GUA, GU1): US$ 500.-

Honduras (LCE, G8A, P0H, SAP, SJ2): US$ 350.- and (TGU, HO7): US$ 250.-

Drop off in neighbor countries must be requested in advance. AVIS has the right to accept or reject the request.

 

Fuel charge: AVIS provides vehicles with a full tank of fuel. An additional fuel charge must be paid provided the vehicle is returned containing less fuel than at the delivery time.
