GENERAL CONDITIONS IN HONDURAS

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: Lempiras (LPS).

 

TAX: 16%.

 10% Air Port fee: it is the airport tax, applicable only at Avis airport locations .

 

Reservations: Reservation must be placed with AVIS at least 24 / 48 hours prior from departure from the country.

 

Minimum Rental: 1 day.

 

Minimum/Maximum Age: 25 / None (prepaid voucher 21 years).

 

Driver's License: Valid drivers license from country of origin. An International credit card will be required.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

 Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

PDW: US$ 10.- per day, with a deductible of US$ 1500.- for damage or total loose of the vehicle as result of accident or robbery.

 

LDW: US$ 30.- per day. In the event of damages to the AVIS car, the renter will be required to pay up to total value of the vehicle toward the repair of the vehicle. This requirement will be fully waived in case of damages and in case of theft, reduced to 20% of the value of the vehicle if the renter elects to purchase thre Loss damage Waiver. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

 

TP: Included in the purchase of LDW.

 

ALI: US$ 5.- per day with a deductible of US$ 700.-

 

PAI: US$ 2.- per day. Provides accidental death and medical expenses benefits to the renter and all passengers in the AVIS car. This may be purchased for a nominal fee. 

 

Additional Driver: US$ 10.- plus tax. per driver, per rental. All additional drivers have to be registered at time of rental and must meet AVIS qualification standards.

 

Spanish speaking chauffeur service: US$ 35.- plus tax per day from 8:00 to 18:00hs, out of this period of time extra hours will be charged.

Bilingual chauffeur service: US$ 60.- plus tax per day from 8:00 to 18:00hs, out of this period of time extra hours will be charged.

 

Refueling service: A refueling service charge will be incurred if a car is returned with less fuel than when rented.Find out about our prepaid gasoline service.

 

One Way Rentals: The vehicles can be driven to Guatemala, Nicaragua or El Salvador, with a previous request of a permit to exit the country.
