Renting
the car:
Once
you have arrived to the Airport and finish all the procedures to enter the city, go the
AVIS desk with the following documentation:
Reservation/confirmation number.
Drivers license of the official driver.
Drivers Credit card.
Any prepaid Voucher of
AVIS.
Passport and return plane ticket.
Show your Rental Agreement to the security guard
at the exit gate.
"AVIS Cares" Program: The intent of
"AVIS Cares" is to reduce the travel stress on our
customers by preparing them for their rental experience; specifically for the
time they spend driving their
AVIS vehicle.
Driving information guide: At participating
AVIS locations renters will be given Travel Safety Information of the particular city / state
they're rental took place.
Each brochure provides important information on local/state
driving rules, speed limits, seat belt requirements, police emergency numbers,
suggested radio stations for news, traffic and weather reports and other
valuable road safety information.
In Canada this guide will be found hanging from the
rear-view mirror of your rental car.
Multi-lingual rental agreement inserts are available at
all major gateway locations.
Other
"AVIS Cares" services: Anti-lock brakes and dual air bags are features
that can be found in most of the
AVIS fleet that offer more protection
to the vehicle occupants.
Child safety seats are available
for rent at all key
AVIS facilities.
"AVIS Cares" travel safety tips: Ask for specific address before you leave the facility. You many obtain address
and/or a map from an
AVIS Rental Sales Agent. Preferred Service Representative may give indicate or give you a map.
If your
vehicle is bumped from behind, do not stop on the roadway or roadside ditch.
Drive to the nearest public area and call for police assistance.
If you
are advised by another driver of problems with your vehicle, don't stop until
you reach a service or well populated area.
Don't
stop if you are flashed with white lights. U.S. emergency vehicles have red/ red
and blue flash lights.
Do not
pick up any person form the road under any circumstances.
Driving
While Intoxicated (DWI) is against the law and considered a very serious offense
in the U.S. and Canada. We recommend that you do not drink at all when driving.
Remember
that seat belts are mandatory in all U.S. States and Canadian provinces.
If your
car is not operating properly, drive to a well-lighted area before stopping.

If
someone on the road indicates for assistance, do not stop.
If you
are lost, proceed to a public lighted area, such as a gas station, for
assistance.
Keep the
doors and windows locked at all times
Keep out
of sight all valuable things (i.e., put them in the glove compartment or trunk)
Park only
at a lighted area. Always check the interior and exterior of your vehicle before
you enter.
