When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: Pounds Sterling (£).


 Tax: 20,0%.
 
 Driver’s License: It is mandatory for all non-residents in Europe to bear the International Driver’s License which must be presented with the license of the country of origin. The latter must be at least one year old.

The International Driver’s License must be submitted along with the license of the country of origin before the police, the municipal authorities, etc. whenever required. Should the same be not held, it may result in severe fines and penalties that may reach the car seizure.

Cars are driven on the left.

 
 Minimum Age: 23 years.

For luxury cars: 25-30 years old.

(A surcharge for Drivers between 23 to 25 years will have to be paid at time of rental).

 

Minimum Rental: 3 days.

 Grace period to give the cars back: 29 minutes.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

For Mercedes Benz rentals, group K and N, 2 (two) different credit cards will be required.

 Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

MANDATORY CHARGES

Airport Fee: 17.5% per rental (applicable on all rentals starting at Airports).
 
 Registration / License Fee: £ 1.05 per day plus tax.
 
 Supplement in city: £ 17.- per rantal plus tax.
 
 London congestion charging: From £ 8.- through £ 10.- per day. For more details click here CLICK
 
 Surcharge for minors of (23-25 years): £ 11.- plus tax per day, up to a maximum of £ 110.- plus tax.

 

OPTIONAL CHARGES

Additional Surcharge for Drivers: £ 35.- per driver, per rental, plus tax.

For Luxury cars, a driver’s license of two years old is required.

Controls for the disabled: £ 70.- per rental, plus tax.

From 1 through 14 days: £ 10.- per day plus tax.

From 15 through 28 days: £ 8.- per day plus tax.

For more than 28 days: £ 6.50 per day plus tax.

In case of theft or loss, a charge of £ 275.- will apply.

 

Pick Up and Drop Off: For offices that are not in Airports, from Monday to Friday.

Working hours:

Up to 10 miles £ 15.- plus tax.

From 11 through 20 miles: £ 20.- plus tax.

For more than 20 miles: £ 20.- plus tax, more £ 1.- per mile additional plus tax.

Out of working hours: £ 20.- plus tax.

 

Pick up at Airports and Train Stations outside office hours:

Less than 2 hours: £ 20.- plus tax.

After 2 hours: £ 40.- plus tax.

 

No-Show Charge: £ 50.- plus tax applicable to rentals that have not been cancelled with 24 working hours’ advance notice of the pick up date.

Special Conditions: A vehicle rented in the United Kingdom can not be driven to Eastern Europe.

 

A - N Groups:

Channel Islands: £ 1.000.-
Isle of Man, Northern Ireland: £ 300.-
Isles Orkneys and Shetlands: £ 300.-
Republic of Ireland: £ 450.-
 

Mercedes Benz cars are not allowed outside United Kingdom.

Mercedes Benz cars, Class E may not be driven throughout the South of Italy.

 

In order to take a car outside the United Kingdom it is necessary to inform the AVIS location two (2) working days before, informing the following:

1 - How many passengers will be traveling in the vehicle.
2 - Driver/s name
3 - Countries to be visited.

 

It will be necessary the purchase of a special package which will include all the necessary documentation to enter Continental Europe with the AVIS car:
 From 1 to 7 days: £ 75.- plus tax.
 From 8 to 14 days: £ 95.- plus tax.
 From 15 to 21 days: £ 115.- plus tax.
 From 22 or more: £ 135.- plus tax.

Cash payment is not accepted for rentals outside the United Kingdom.

INSURANCE & COVERAGE

In case of damage or theft of an AVIS vehicle:
 If CDW/TP is declined: The market value of the car will be applicable.

If CDW/TP is accepted: Only a deductible of £ 600.- for all the groups will be applicable.

 

Cousts

CDW: £ 6.50 per day plus tax.

TP: £ 4.75 per day plus tax.

 

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): £ 3.50 plus tax per day.


 Extension to Personal Effects (Super PAI): N/A.
