GENERAL CONDITIONS IN PORTUGAL

	When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: EUROS (€).

Local Tax:
Mainland 23%,

Madeira and Azores 16%
 

Driver’s License: It is mandatory for all non-residents in Europe to bear the International Driver’s License which must be presented with the license of the country of origin. The latter must be at least one year old.

The International Driver’s License must be submitted along with the license of the country of origin before the police, the municipal authorities, etc. whenever required. Should the same be not held, it may result in severe fines and penalties that may reach the car seizure.

Minimum Age: An additional charge will be applied, which will have to be paid at destination, for minor drivers between 21 and 24 years.
 

Mainland:

With prepaid voucher: 21 years, for all groups, except for groups H and M.

Groups H and M: 30 years. With two credit cards accepted by AVIS, no cash allowed.
Cash payment at destination: 23 years for all groups, except for groups H and M.

Madeira:

With prepaid voucher: 21 years, for all groups.

Cash payment at destination: 23 years for all groups.
 

Azores: 23 years.

Grace period to give the cars back: 29 minutes.

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, optional charges, etc.

Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

OPTIONAL CHARGES

Satellite Navigator (GPS): Available at the counter to rental.
Azores: € 10.- per day plus TAX, up to a maximum of € 90.- per rental plus TAX.

Mainland and Madeira, see table:
 

Bluetooth:
Mainland: € 4,20.- per day plus TAX, up to a maximum of € 41,70.- per rental plus TAX.
 

Delivery and return within the City:

    Mainland: € 20.60.- per rental plus TAX.
    Madeira: € 21.84.- per rental plus TAX.

Delivery and return outside the City during customer service hours:

    Mainland: € 20.60.- plus TAX per rental, plus € 2.06- plus TAX per km driven.

    Madeira: € 21.84.- plus TAX per rental, plus € 2.18.- plus TAX per km driven.

    Delivery in Azores: No charge.
    Return in Azores: € 21.55. - per rental plus TAX.

Delivery and Return outside customer service hours:

    Mainland € 20.- per rental plus TAX.

    Madeira: € 21.20.- per rental plus TAX.

    Azores: € 21.55.- per rental plus TAX.

Fuel: If the car is returned with less fuel than the one it had when it was picked up, the difference corresponding to the fuel consumed will be charged plus an additional fixed charge as fuel replacement charge.
Mainland: € 31.-plus TAX.

   Madeira: € 31.- plus TAX.
   Azores: € 10.09.- plus TAX.

INSURANCE & COVERAGE

Insurance Extension to Personal Effects (Super PAI):

Mainland: € 10.55.- per day plus TAX.
Mainland: € 11.13.- per day plus TAX.

Coverage for wheels and Tires:
Azores: € 15.80.- per day plus TAX for all car groups, except groups G-H-K-N-O.
 

Windscreen Damage Waiver:
Mainland: € 1.30.- per day plus TAX.
Madeira: € 1.38.- per day plus TAX.
Azores: € 13.60.- per day plus TAX. for all car groups, except groups G-H-K-N-O.
