GENERAL CONDITIONS IN GREECE

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: Euros (€).

 

Local Tax: 19% (13% for Kos, Rhodos, Samos, Skiathos, Skopelos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Hios and Santorini).


( ! ) Starting March 15th 2010, the TAX in Greece will be 18%.
 

Driver’s License: It is mandatory for all non-residents in Europe to bear the International Driver’s License which must be presented with the license of the country of origin. The latter must be at least one year old.

The International Driver’s License must be submitted along with the license of the country of origin before the police, the municipal authorities, etc. whenever required. Should the same be not held, it may result in severe fines and penalties that may reach the car seizure.

 

Minimum Age: 21 years.

Group L: 25 years.

 Grace period to give the cars back: 29 minutes.
 
Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

MANDATORY CHARGES

Airport Surcharge: 9%.

Atenas and Esparta: 13%.

 

OPTIONAL CHARGES

Additional Driver: € 4.31 per day, maximum € 43.00 plus Tax per rental.

 

Surcharge for minors drivers from 21 to 25 years: € 17.- per day, maximum € 172.- plus tax.

 

Child Safety Seat: € 6.03 per day, maximum € 60.- plus tax. To be required.

 

Snow Chains: € 5.- per day, maximum € 51.72 plus tax. To be required.

One Way rentals between mainland and the islands or that finish out of Greece are not permitted. Authorization to carry the vehicle on a ferry is required.
 

INSURANCE & COVERAGE

In case of damage or theft of an AVIS vehicle:
If CDW/TP is declined: The table amounts will be applied (Responsibility Full Value).

If CDW/TP is accepted: Only deductible will be applied.
