GENERAL CONDITIONS IN BELGIUM

When renting an AVIS car the client will be asked to accept or decline any of the optional coverage's or insurances. If the customer initials to accept the coverage's and/or the insurances the client will NOT be reimbursed.

 

CONDITIONS

Local Currency: Euros (€).

 

Local Tax: 21%.

 

Driver’s License: It is mandatory for all non-residents in Europe to bear the International Driver’s License which must be presented with the license of the country of origin. The latter must be at least one year old.

The International Driver’s License must be submitted along with the license of the country of origin before the police, the municipal authorities, etc. whenever required. Should the same be not held, it may result in severe fines and penalties that may reach the car seizure.

 

Minimum Age:

Groups A, M, P: 23 years.
 Groups E, G, I: 25 years.
 Groups K - L: 30 years.

 

Minimum Rental: 3 days.

 Grace period to give the cars back: 29 minutes.

 

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

Debit Cards: IMPORTANT; Are not accepted as deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the deposits cannot be reimbursed.

MANDATORY CHARGES

Airport and Train Stations Fee: 17.50%, minimum € 35.- plus tax.

 

Eco Surcharge: € 2.50 plus tax per rental.

 

OPTIONAL CHARGES

Additional Driver: € 25.- plus tax, per driver, per rental.

 

Minor driver between 23 and 25 years: € 10.- plus tax per day, per driver, to a maximum of 10 days of rental plus tax.

 

Child Safety Seat (CSS): € 31.- per rental plus tax.

 

Booster Safety Seat (CBS): € 31.- per rental plus tax.

 

Satellite Navigator (TOM TOM): € 10.- per day plus tax, € 56.- per week plus tax, € 120.- per month plus tax and/or Airport or Train Station fee.

Available only in Brussels (BRU, WT3, AQ2).

One Ways Nationals or Internationals: Not allowed.

The Navigator must be returned during AVIS working hours.

 

Delivery and drop-off within the City: € 25.- per rental plus tax, from Monday through Friday and during AVIS working hours.

 

Delivery and drop-off outside the City and during AVIS’s non-working hours: At least € 65.- per rental plus tax.

Service not allowed for Private Residences, for groups K, L and from/to Airports and Railway Stations.

 

Late arrivals: € 23.- per rental plus tax, only at Airports and Railway Stations (except for Berchem Railway Station, Saturdays and Sundays).

 

Air delay: Free of charge at Brussels Airport until 30 minutes.

Domestic Drop Off / One Way: € 25.- plus tax, this charge is paid, when in Belgium the customer changes the drop-off location of a reservation that has already been confirmed for another one within the same country.

 

Repatriation charge: € 48.- plus tax, for foreign vehicles that are returned to their country of origin.

 

Special Conditions: A vehicle rented in Belgium can NOT enter: Africa, Albania, Byelorussia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Greek, Hungary, Mediterranean Isles, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Yugoslavia, Turkey and Ukraine.

 

Groups K, L cannot cross into Italy.

 

INSURANCE & COVERAGE

In case of damage or theft of an AVIS vehicle:
 If CDW/TP is declined: The amounts of table will be applied (Responsibility).
If CDW/TP is accepted: Only deductible will be applied.

In case of damage and/or theft an administration fee of € 75.- will be applied in addition to the deductible.  

 

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): 

Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, K, L, M, N, O: € 8.70 per day plus tax.

Groups I, P: € 10.80 per day plus tax.

 

Extension to Personal Effects Insurance (Super PAI): 

Group A: € 4.83 per day plus tax.

Group B:  € 5.45 per day plus tax.

Groups C, F, M: € 6.07 per day plus tax.

Groups D, E: € 6.45 per day plus tax.

Groups G, I, K, P: € 8.92 per day plus tax.

Groups H: € 4.83 per day plus tax.

Group L: € 11.40 per day plus tax.

Groups N, O: € 6.69 per day plus tax.
