 Minimum Rental:
2 consecutive days.
Minimum Age:
25 years.
Surcharge for minors
between 21 and 25 years:
It varies according to the Provinces. In all cases the Surcharge for minors
must have a
prepaid voucher (exceptions
may apply). The fee to be
charged is to be determined by
the AVIS location
at the time of
pick up.
Driver's
License:
A
valid driver's license issued in the renter's country must be produced at time of
rental and it must be minimum 1 year old. If an international driver's license
is presented it must be shown with the renter's country license.
AVIS reserves the right to refuse the rental to a customer if he does not meet the
AVIS minimum age requirement,
is not in possession of a
valid driver's license, is incapable to demonstrate any credit or payment
possibility, or if in
AVIS opinion, he may constitute a
risk.
Mileage:
A - W car groups include unlimited mileage. The car must be returned in the city that was rented.
Driver
Responsibility:
The rate includes life insurance according to
the effective law and the rental agreement.
Grace
Period:
29 minute grace period. At 30 minutes, 3/4th the
daily rate plus a penny is charged. At 90 minutes, a full day is charged.
Extra
charge for drop off after the time agreed in contract:
In addition to the amount charged by
AVIS
for droppin off the car after the
time agreed in contract,
AVIS
will charge a fee of CAD 15.-
plus tax per day (starting 7 hours after the agreed drop off hour).
Credit Card:
An
International credit card accepted by AVIS
will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be
blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in
the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.
Debit
Cards: IMPORTANT;
Are not accepted as
deposit. Since credit cards issued in Latinamerica do not allow credits the
deposits cannot be reimbursed.
Prepayment:
The rental amount, must be paid before the departure, using
AVIS vouchers. A credit card will be required at time of rental
to cover any additional charges not included in the prepaid voucher,
i.e., fuel, accident insurances,
one-way
rentals, taxes, etc.
All the additional charges, not included in the
prepaid voucher, will be charged at time of rental.
 Smoke
Free Cars:
by October 1st, 2009
AVIS
fleet in USA and Canada will be 100% smoke free. Applicable to every make and every model. A sticker will be placed on every vehicle tat will remind all travellers that every vehicle
in
AVIS
fleet is fresh, clean and odor free. To make good on our smoke-free promise, we have implemented new inspection process and will assess a cleaning fee of up to
US$ 250.- if the vehicle is returned and it smells of smoke. For more information, please contact:
